ASTRO K9
Who we
are
At Astro K9, we use balanced training built on clarity, structure, and calm leadership. We believe every dog deserves the chance to succeed and we give them every opportunity to get it right.
We start with positive reinforcement to build understanding, then layer in accountability for lasting reliability.
Our philosophy is simple: teach before correcting, guide rather than overpower, and set boundaries without limiting potential - always adapting to each dog’s needs.
It’s thoughtful, proven training for real dogs, real families, and real results. Training that creates calm, confident companions and lasting peace of mind for you.
It’s training that actually works.

"Abby showed us how to create clear, consistent communication"
We brought home our 4-month-old Akita pup, Sully, and quickly realized we were in over our heads. Despite having had four Akitas before, we were rusty—and Sully had big energy. Abby was referred to us by a neighbor, and she’s been a game changer. Her approach is all about building confidence—both in us and our dog. She helped us understand where we were confusing Sully and showed us how to create clear, consistent communication. Her energy is positive, firm, and deeply supportive. She’s not only helped us transform Sully’s behavior but also helped me release the fear of handling a strong-willed, fast-growing pup. Abby is warm, no-nonsense, and completely dedicated. We feel incredibly lucky to be working with her.

"Our friends can’t believe the difference!"
Abby was a lifesaver for our lovable and over friendly 5 year old lab Buck. We were having our first grandchild and although we knew Buck would be sweet we needed him to know his place. We also needed him to stop greeting our guests without jumping all over them to say hello. Abby did her magic and worked with Buck and us too and we are now able to enjoy having the baby and friends over without the stress of him taking over. Our friends can’t believe the difference! He also loves his outings with Emily and the girls twice a week now and has even lost some weight! Our whole experience has been so awesome. We are forever grateful to Abby and her team!!

"Winnie wouldn’t be the dog she is today without Abby"
Abby has been incredibly helpful to Winnie since she was born. She guided us through crate training, obedience training with compassion and gentle discipline so that today Winnie is an incredibly well trained dog who runs on the beach and never runs away always responding to commands, and she can go out to lunch or dinner and sit calmly under the table for the duration of the meal. These are just a few examples of how Abby’s training has turned Winnie into a wonderful part of our family. In addition Winnie loves her weekly outings with Abby and her staff playing with lots of other dogs while continuing her training skills with the group, Winnie comes home happy and tired! Winnie wouldn’t be the dog she is today without Abby in her life since day one.

"We couldn't believe the change in just 3 weeks!"
We adopted a very shy labradoodle puppy that refused to go on walks and was constantly digging up holes in the back yard. Abby came to our home everyday and did training sessions with our dog, my husband and daughters. After 3 weeks of training we were surprised that our puppy was great on the walk, calm when out at a coffee shop and stopped digging outside in the backyard. We love and trusted Abby so much that we reached out to have her take care of our dog when our family went on a 2 week vacation. Abby and her team sent us videos each day of our dog out on many fun dog play groups while we were away. Abby is the best there is and we would recommend her to anyone looking for dog training and pet boarding.
